About 80 officers serving the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) with a view to assessing civil-military projects that had been undertaken, met one another in a 6-day long workshop for ‘Civil Military Inter Dependency Activities’ (CMIDA), organized at Thalsevana Holiday Resort, Kankasanthurai on the directions of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J.
The workshop, aimed at sharing experience and lessons, derived from various civil-military activities, commenced on 21 Sept with a special inaugural lecture, delivered by Mr Rohan Senevirathne, Additional Secretary (Technical) to Ministry of Defence and Urban Development as the Chief Guest.
CMIDA in Jaffna on the directives of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J has executed 19 projects, designed to uplift living standards of Jaffna populace and promotion of Civil-Military relationships.
Maulavi Hakam Deen Amhar of Muslim Ladies Arabic College, Gampaha, Prof. Shantha K. Hennayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Mr. R.A.A.K Ranawake, Secretary to the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Council, Dr. Jehan Perera, Executive Director, National Peace Council of Sri Lanka, Brigadier (Retd) Rohan Jayasinghe and a few more scholars delivered lectures during the workshop.
Major General L.W.C.B.B Rajaguru, Director General Infantry at Army Headquarters delivered the closing address at the end of the workshop.
