Jaffna Civil Affairs Office Organizes Free Distribution of Cattle &;amp; Exercise Books

Fostering friendship and goodwill that exists between the Security Forces and the people of Jaffna further, the Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna recently organized free distribution of 11 cattle among farmers in Iyakkachchi and Tharmankerny areas and exercise books among school children.

The Civil Affairs and Public Relations Office of the Jaffna Security Forces Headquarters took the initiative in this connection as part of their community-oriented projects. With the coordination of the Seeppukulama Agricultural Training Centre, this office by early this week has sent more than 28 male and female farmers for training in animal husbandry. Earlier, the same office distributed 25 more cattle among civilians in order to help them relieve of their economic constraints.

A brief function for distribution of those cattle and books, headed by Major General Mahinda Hathurursinghe, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna took place at the Civil Affairs and Public Relations Office of the Jaffna Security Forces Headquarters.

Brigadier General Staff SF-J Brig. B.C.J.A.F. Rodrigo, 55 Division General Officer Commanding Brig. Ruwan Kulatunga and Grama Seva officials of respective areas were also present.
