The Platoon Weapon Course - 20 at Minneriya Infantry Training Centre (ITC), attended by 36 soldiers concluded on Tuesday (21 March). It began on 21 January and continued up to 21 March until the awarding ceremony.
Brigadier Wasantha Liyanawaduge, Commandant, ITC graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered the closing remarks before he presented certificates to the participants. Corporal J.A.W.W Bandara of the 6 Gemunu Watch achieved the first in order of merits and was specially commended by the Commandant.
The course focused on platoon weapons used in the Army and consisted of theoretical and practical sessions with examinations. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the awarding ceremony.
