To coincide with India's Independence Day, a solemn ceremony at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Monument in Palaly, Jaffna remembered the sacrifices of Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) troops who laid their lives in the fight against LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka during 1987-1990.
The Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna in collaboration with the office of the Consul General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna organized the commemorative event.
At the monument, the Consul General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna Mr. Shri Raakesh Natraj and the Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc made floral tributes to the memory of fallen IPKF War Heroes and saluted their memory during the brief and solemn ceremony.
A group of Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and Officials in the office of the Consul General of India attended the commemorative ceremony.
