Inter Regiment Combat Firing Meet-2019 Concluded

The Inter Regiment Combat Firing Meet 2019, conducted under three categories as open, service regiments and novices, concluded at the MSTS Diyathalawa on Sunday (23) after a simple awarding ceremony, attended by Major General Nirmal Dharmarathna, Deputy Chief of Staff as the chief guest.

The combat meet was competed by 320 plus competitors and the Open championship was grabbed by the Gemunu Watch. Runners up were the shooters in the Commando Regiment (2nd place) and those of Special Forces troops (3rd place).

In the Open category, 20 teams competed and in the novices category 12 teams vied all together.

Service championship meanwhile was grabbed by the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps. The runners up slots went to the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and the third place to the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

In the novices Category championship was won by Sri Lanka Light Infantry and runners up were secured by Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and the commando Regiment shooters.

Open category best shooter, W.P.N Dammika of Gemunu Watch, Service Category Best shooter S.P.D.S Manchanayake of SLCMP and best shooter of the invoices championship was the A.G.S Udayakumara of Mechanized Infantry Regiment.

The chief guest awarded medals, certificates and trophies to the winners.

Meanwhile, Major General Mahinda Mudalige, Commander Security Forces West, won as the Best One in marksmanship batch - 2018.

Senior officers including Major General Suraj Bangsajayah, Director General General Staff attended at the venue. affiliate tracking url | Nike
