INSS Director General Participates in COSATT Conference on South Asia’s Stability

Colonel M.B.B.N Herath RSP, Director General (Overlooking) of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), participated in an international conference organised by the Consortium of South Asian Think Tanks (COSATT) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 30 March to 1 April 2025.

The event, titled “South Asia’s Stability in a Turbulent World: The European Union’s Role in Shaping Regional Resilience,” brought together scholars, policymakers and security experts. Director General of INSS emphasised the importance of multilateral cooperation to address regional challenges such as climate-induced risks, economic instability and geopolitical uncertainty. He also highlighted the European Union's role in supporting South Asia’s resilience through diplomacy, investment and security partnerships.

In addition to the conference, he engaged with academics and students at the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE) and Kathmandu University School of Management, delivering lectures on climate security and strategic resilience, strengthening Nepal's role in nurturing regional dialogue.
