Infected Numbers Rise within Day-NOCPCO

As of this morning (3), a total of 878 including 402 locally-identified majority from Colombo and 188 from Kalutara (Of them, 98 from Atulugama) were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (3), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 21,857. Meanwhile, 14,896 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (18, 798) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

Up to yesterday (2), a total of 25,409 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 18,303 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,982 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

In the past 24 hours by this morning (3), 487 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. To-date, 124 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. Yesterday’s 02 deaths were from Chilaw and Colombo 13 areas.

By this morning (3), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 49 passengers, the flight UL 554 from Jordan with 284 passengers and the flight UL 881 from China with 2 passengers have arrived in Colombo. Likewise, the flight YW 371 from Oman with 54 passengers and the flight AI 281 from India with some passengers are expected to land here within the day (3).They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
