Indiscriminate Terrorist Artillery Fire Injures Woman

JAFFNA: ONE FORTY-FIVE year old woman, named Ms. VINAYAGAMOORTHI RAJESWARI received injuries owing to a rain of LTTE artillery fire rounds directed by Tiger terrorists towards the civilian-dominated USSAN village in JAFFNA Thursday (17) afternoon.

Five more houses belonging to poor civilians were also badly damaged in the artillery fire triggered by terrorists from un-cleared areas of PALAI and SORAMPATTU where terrorist gun positions are deployed.

The wounded woman, an innocent villager was rushed to JAFFNA Teaching hospital for treatment but reports say that her condition is critical.

Meanwhile, one more civilian, YOGANADAN WASANTHAN (26) was shot by an unidentified gunman, suspected to be from the LTTE on Thursday (26) morning around 10.30 a.m. in SINNAKODAI area. He was admitted to JAFFNA hospital. Police investigations are on.
