India’s Chief of the Air Staff Pays Courtesies to the Army Chief

The Chief of the Air Staff of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, called on Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army on Wednesday (3) morning at the Army Headquarters.

He was welcomed at the Army Headquarters in a formal military ceremony where the visiting Chief of the Air Staff was honoured by presenting a Guard of Honour in conformity with military traditions. On arrival at the premises, he was received by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Adjutant General.

The visiting Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force was afterwards introduced to Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters by the Commander of the Army at the entrance to the main building after extending a hearty welcome to the day’s guest from our neighborhood.

After a while, all Senior Officers, together with the Chief of the Air Staff sat for a group photograph and left memories of his visit to the Army Headquarters. Subsequently, he was invited to the Commander’s office for formal interactions.

During his cordial meeting with Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, the visiting Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force exchanged views on bilateral matters of concern to both the Sri Lanka Army and the Indian Air Force. Discussions also focused on region-related issues. Adding significance to his visit to the office of the Commander of the Army, the visiting Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force left his compliments in the Visitors’ Book at the Commander’s office.

Before his exit, both military leaders, determined to continue their understanding and goodwill in the future too exchanged mementos.

Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Military Secretary, Captain Vikas Sood, Defence Advisor of High Commission of India and representatives of the delegation were also associated with the occasion.
