Impressed CGA Members to Grow 100,000 More Coconut Saplings in Peninsula

The officials of the Coconut Growers Association (CGA) at the invitation of Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) discussed feasibilities of planting 100,000 more coconut seedlings in the Jaffna district during the general meeting of the CGA, held at Thalsevana Army Holiday Resort on Sunday (26).

Those CGA members spoke high of the progress that has been made by the Army by planting more than 37,000 coconut seedlings in the peninsula covering 578 acres, to-date and lavishly commended the Army for its dedicated commitment for maintenance of those saplings across the peninsula. Officials of the Coconut Development Board present at the meeting also endorsed the views of the CGA members.

The discussion that followed with the Brigadier General Staff at the SFHQ-J, Brigadier Priyantha Gamage, representing the Jaffna Commander was attended by Mr Jayantha Wickramasinghe, President CGA, Dr Nihal Silva, Mr Ranjith Dias and Professor Mohandas representing the CGA and the Coconut Development Board.Mysneakers | Air Jordan
