WELLAWATTA: AN EXPLOSION occurred in WELLAWATTA area on COLOMBO-GALLE road this morning (10) around 6.50 a.m.
The IED (Improvised Explosive Device) explosion killed one civilian and injured four more who were around the location at the time of the incident.
The injured were rushed to COLOMBO South Teaching Hospital.
Information revealed that school children were also among the injured.
Hospital sources said the condition of one injured civilian was critical.
