A few delegates of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), headed by Mr Irfan Sulejmani, Head at Colombo-based ICRC and Mr Patrick Morin, Head at ICRC office in Vavuniya during a visit to the North called at the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) and met Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ-MLT with the intention of receiving an update on the humanitarian roles, being performed by the SFHQ-MLT in coordination with the ICRC representatives in Mullaittivu on Thursday (9).
Discussions reviewed different projects in progress and how best the troops could assist those humanitarian roles for the greater benefit of the people living in the area. Major General P.U.S Vithanage assured the full cooperation for effective conduct of those roles during the talks. At the conclusion of the cordial meeting, Major General Vithanage presented souvenirs to the Head ICRC Colombo and others as an appreciation of their visit to the SFHQ-MLT.
