ICRC Head Calls at Security Force HQ-East

Ms Severine Chappaz, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Colombo, and the Assistant Officer (ICRC) Delegation in Colombo called on Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - East (SFHQ-East) at the Security Force Headquarters - East in Welikanda on Wednesday (16).

The meeting exchanged views of mutual interest in relation to the close cooperation that prevails between the Sri Lanka Army and the ICRC for promotion and protection of Human Rights and the International Humanitarian Law.

Towards the end of the cordial discussions, the Commander Security Forces - East symbolized the goodwill by presenting mementos to ICRC delegates. The gestures were reciprocated. Ms. Severine Chappaz penned down a few words in the Visitors' Book before their exit from the SFHQ-East.

A few Senior Officers and Officers also attended the occasion.
