Sri Lanka Army troops serving the 682 Brigade of the 68 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), extending its community assistance projects further, facilitated the conduct of a two-day long pre G.C.E (O/L) seminar at Puthukkuddiyirippu Central College during 17-18 October.
On the first day (17), a total of 474 G.C.E (O/L) candidates attended the seminar and 447 students joined on the second day (18). Mr K. Selvarajah, Deputy Educational Director, Mr K. Kajendran of Iranapalai Roman Catholic School, Mr R. Swanan of Iranapalai Roman Catholic School and Mr K. Kajanthan of Puthukkuddiyirippu Central College through the Army coordination delivered instructional lectures on English, History, Science and Mathematics respectively.
In addition, Army troops on both days provided breakfast, lunch, evening tea with biscuits to all and special allowances for those who conducted lectures during seminar sessions.
The inaugural occasion of the Seminar was attended by Mr Subramaniam Eeshwaran, Zonal Education Director for Puthukkuddiyirippu Division, Mr K.V.D Sivarasa, Principal, Puthukkuddiyirippu Central College, Mr K. Mahendraraja, Deputy Principal, Puthukkuddiyirippu Central College and Mr Ragu Udayakumar of Mullaittivu Zonal Education Office (Sinhala), together with several principals and teachers.
Major General Aruna Ariyasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division attended as the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony.
