The Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (HR & HL) concluded its Basic Course-32 of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR & IHL) at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training - Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) in Kukuleganga on Thursday (Jan 26).
Brigadier Dinesh Udugama, Director, HR & HL joined the certificate awarding ceremony and delivered the vote of thanks to the student officers and commended them on their skills and talents, expressed during the course.
The course was conducted during Jan 09 - 26 inclusive of modules such as Human Rights, Civil Law, Fundamental Rights, Military Powers in Internal Security Operations, Women’s Rights, Children's Rights and teaching practices with exams to evaluate the participants.
47 Student Officers participated in the course, comprised of 38 Army Officers, 05 Navy Officers and 04 Air Force Officers. Lieutenant Commander K.E Buddhika of the Sri Lanka Navy secured the first in order of merits and was specially commended during the awarding ceremony.
