Under the Foster School Assistance Project of the Bambalapitiya-based Holy Family Convent, 233 Brigade troops under 23 Division recently organized a combined sports meet for students at Kandaladi Primary School in Vakarai with the cooperation of school authorities.
Sister Principal, teachers and a groups of students of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya joined hands together with Vakarai Kandaladi Primary School authorities and students to take part in the sports programme throughout the whole day.
Towards the end of the programme, the visitors interacted with Vakarai students and gave away gift parcels, containing school accessories.
Major General Lal Perera, Security Force Commander, East together with several senior officers attended the occasion.
In the meantime, troops of 12 Sri Lanka Artillery serving Batticaloa under 231 Brigade recently conducted a Shramadana campaign with civilians in the area in order to clean the surroundings at Nawakkaddu Central Dispensary in the area.
