High Commissioner of New Zealand Pays Courtesies to Army Chief

The High Commissioner of New Zealand for Sri Lanka, His Excellency Michael Appleton on Wednesday morning (6) paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters.

During this cordial exchange of views at the Commander's Office, both engaged in discussions on matters of mutual interest and concern for their respective countries. Both Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage and His Excellency Michael Appleton recalled prevailing bonds of goodwill, cooperation and understanding that have existed between their nations over the years. They both emphasized the specific importance of maintaining and nurturing those healthy relations further in the future, too.

Towards the conclusion of the meeting, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage symbolized the Sri Lanka Army's goodwill by presenting a commemorative memento to the High Commissioner of New Zealand for Sri Lanka. The gesture was reciprocated. He left a few thoughts in the visitors’ book before his exit from the premises.
