The High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives for Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ali Faiz paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage on Thursday (27) at the Army Headquarters.
During cordial discussions that ensued, both of them recalled friendly and sound relations that exist between both nations for so many years as well as ongoing exchange programmes, related particularly to the participation of armed forces in varied training programmes and other pertinent exchange modules of bilateral importance.
He left memories in the visitors’ book at the Commander’s Office as well.
The cordial meeting culminated with the exchange of mementos. Brigadier P.K.S Nandana RSP USP psc, Director, Directorate of Training and Lieutenant Colonel L.T.C Hassan Amir, Defence Advisor at the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives were also associated with the courtesy meeting.
