Continuing the 2nd phase of lecture series, a panel of medical experts of ’Healthy Army - Healthy Nation’ project of the Colombo Army Hospital reached the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Batalanda on Wednesday (July 26) and educated 148 Student Officers, inclusive of 72 Officers of the Sri Lanka Army, 26 Officers of the Sri Lanka Navy, 24 Officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force, 25 Foreign Officers and 01 Police Officer under the theme, 'Non-communicable Diseases'.
Accordingly, awareness lectures delivered by the Consultant Physiologist Brigadier (Dr) A.S.M Wijewardena USP on 'Secrets to a Healthy Long Life', Brevet Colonel B.L Ranasinghe KSP on 'Benefits of Exercises' and Captain A.C.K Udugama on 'Healthy Eating Makes You Happy and Healthy' respectively educated the attendees.
In addition, a minor physical exercise programme was introduced which can be carried out during working hours while wearing the uniform.
Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commandant of DSCSC, Brigadier A.P Wickramasekara USP psc, Deputy Commandant of the DSCSC, Senior Officers and Directive Staff also took part in the event.
