HE the President Makes Offerings to Sanda Hiru Seya

Hours before placement of 'Atavisi' Buddha statues around the 'Salapatalamaluwa' at ‘Sanda Hiru Seya', HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, together, with the First Lady and Security Chiefs visited the sacred Stupa, dedicated to the memory of fallen War Heroes and paid his obeisance to the Dagoba at Anuradhapura on Saturday (5) morning.

General Kamal Gunarathna (retd), Secretary Defence, General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army together with the Commander of the Air Force, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit, welcomed the President.

Those Buddha statues were taken yesterday (4) from Melsiripura in a colourful Perahera.

In the meantime, President took time off to make offerings to the new shrine in the premises.

Several parliamentarians, few state officials, Commander Security Forces Wanni and others joined the occasion.
