Troops of the Security Force HQ-Central (SFHQ-Central) coordinated and co-operated with Ven. Kahagolle Ananda Thero, Chief Incumbent of Sri Sudarshanarama Temple in Haldummulla for supply of scholarships, school accessories and essentials among 220 needy students, resident in Haldummulla Grama Sewa Division on Saturday (18 Feb).
A group of overseas-based donors and philanthropists through the SFHQ-Central coordination volunteered to support the project, in which each student received a scholarship, valued at Rs. 8,000/= in addition to gift parcels of school accessories and essentials.
The distribution ceremony was held at Sri Sudarshanarama Temple in Haldummulla where 5 wheelchairs were also gifted to helpless physically- handicapped persons, resident in the same area.
Brigadier Sanjeewa Nanumiarachchi, Brigadier Admin and Quartering at SFHQ-Central on behalf of the Commander, SF-Central graced the event as the Chief Guest along with several Officers and Other Ranks including the Civil Coordination Officer. Beneficiaries with their family members took part in the distribution ceremony.
