Halambewewa Primary School Students, Recipients of School Accessories

Troops of the 622 Infantry Brigade of the 62 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force HQ- Wanni with sponsorship, provided by South-based donors distributed school accessories to the value of Rs 400,000/= among 50 students studying at M/Halambewewa Primary School in Welioya on Friday (27 May) after inviting the beneficiaries to Halambewewa Dharmadheepa Welimaluwa temple.

The donation was co-sponsored by philanthropists, Mr Sumudu Perera, Mr. Manjula Bamunnearachchi and Mr Iresh Dayarathne, all three from Colombo through Army coordination. Each student under the project received a pack of school needs, worth Rs 8000/=. Each pack contained a school bag, shoes, books, pencils, pens, stationery, etc.

The programme was arranged as per directions of the General Officer Commanding of the 62 Infantry Division, Major General R.A.J.N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc and the supervision of the Commander, 622 Infantry Brigade Colonel K.H.N.U.B Kollongahapitiya USP. 9 Gajaba Regiment troops made all arrangements to this effect.

Colonel K.H.N.U.B Kollongahapitiya USP, Brigade Commander, 622 Brigade and Senior Officers, Officers and other Ranks were present during the distribution ceremony.
