Inter Regiment Gymnastic Novices/Championship Tournament - 2019 of the Army was held during 27-28 March at Sugathadasa Stadium.
The final and the awarding ceremony took place on Thursday (28) in the presence of Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest.
A total of 61 competitors representing 12 Regiments competed in this year’s Championship with much enthusiasm. Amid tough encounters, Gemunu Watch gymnasts in both Novices and Regiment categories won the Championships.
Commander of the Army, together with other distinguished guests awarded medals, trophies and certificates to the winners at the invitation of the Director General of Sports, Major General Anura Sudasinghe and Colonel Lanka Amarapala, Chairman, Army Gymnastic Committee.
