Gurunagar Coastal Belt Cleaned Up

A ‘Coastal Belt Clean-Up Programme’ was initiated by the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) to be in parallel with the ongoing national programme, 'Let's Stand Together for the Country 2019' on Friday (23) on the directions of the Commander, SF - Jaffna.

The clean-up took place along the coastal area of Gurunagar in Jaffna, a patch which remained badly polluted due to heaps of garbage and other pollutants.

District Secretary for Jaffna, Mayor of Jaffna, Commander 512 Brigade, Commanding Officer Sri Lanka Navy of Velusumana Camp, Army and Navy troops, Officials from the Divisional Secretary’s Office - Jaffna, Urban Council - Jaffna, Coastal Guard Authority, School Cadets and villagers in the area joined hands together with civilians to make the area neat and tidy.
