To improve the knowledge of the troops, a training programme on ‘Disaster Management’ was conducted at the 22 Division Headquarters as per the directions of Major General K.M.U Wijeratne, Commander, Security Force - East (SF-E) recently.
Covering several areas regarding the ‘Disaster Management’, troops in the 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment and 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops learnt about fire fighting and first-aid packages of the Basic Engineer School in Embilipitiya and the basic skills development package of the Commando Regiment Training School (CRTS), Uva Kudaoya.
After the successful completion of the course, 2 GR troops received their certificates from Brigadier A.P.I Fernando, Brigade Commander, 221 Brigade.
Meanwhile, Colonel D.M.D.K.B Pussella, Brigade Commander at 222 Brigade distributed certificates among 22 VIR troops at the Training School-Thavulwewa.
