Major General R.P.S. Prasad RWP RSP USP assumed duties as the 20th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division on 04 May 2026 at the Division Headquarters.
Amidst religious observances, the newly appointed GOC was warmly received by Senior Officers and was accorded a Guard Turnout, followed by a Guard of Honour presented by the troops of the 9th Battalion, Sri Lanka National Guard.
Subsequently, the GOC addressed all ranks, outlining his vision and expectations for the future.
The day’s proceedings concluded with an All-Ranks tea. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
