GOC of 56 Infantry Division Assumes Duties

Brigadier M.P.N.A. Muthumala USP psc assumed duties as the 29th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Infantry Division at Division Headquarters on 23 October 2024.

Upon arrival, the Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers, followed by a Guard Turnout and Parade presented by the troops of the 56 Infantry Division.

In his new office, the GOC symbolically signed an official document to mark the assumption of his duties following religious observances. He then planted a sapling on the premises as a symbolic gesture before posing for group photographs.

Later, the newly appointed GOC addressed All-Rranks, sharing his vision for the division’s future. The event concluded with an All-Ranks tea. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the programme.
