Major General Priyantha Senarathne of Commando Regiment (CR) on the eve of his retirement after completion of more than three-decade of exemplary service to the Army and the country alike paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Friday (6) at the Army HQ in Sri Jayawardenepura.
During the cordial interaction, the Commander of the Army refreshed memories and shared views with the outgoing Senior Officer on his future plans and other endeavours, etc.
Towards the end of the interaction, the Commander symbolized his appreciation and presented a special memento to the outgoing Major General Priyantha Senarathne who has been serving as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 53 Division.
