GOC of 51 Infantry Division Begins Duties

Major General M.P.N.A. Muthumala USP psc of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment assumed duties as the 35th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 51 Infantry Division in Kopay on 02 December 2024.

The newly appointed GOC was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers upon his arrival and honoured in a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour presented by the troops of the 14th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment.

Afterwards, the new GOC signed an official document to mark the assumption of his duties, amidst the chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by the Maha Sanga. Subsequently, he planted a mango sapling and addressed the troops.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion.
