Major General W.L.A.C Perera, RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division, visited the Government Agent (GA) of Batticaloa District on 05 June 2024. The visit included a series of discussions covering a wide range of topics, including social harmony, religious harmony, community activities and civil-military relations.
During the visit, the GOC engaged in dialogue with Mrs. J.J. Muralithaaran, the GA of Batticaloa. They addressed various concerns and explored avenues for collaboration, with a particular focus on community relations. Both the GOC and the GA expressed their commitment to strengthening ties and working together for the betterment of the Batticaloa community.
In addition to these discussions, the visit also included various activities aimed at enhancing engagement and interaction between the military and the local community. These activities included cultural exchanges, Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities, sports events, and outreach programs designed to foster camaraderie and goodwill.
Colonel General Staff of the 24 Infantry Division and several Senior Officers also participated in the event.
