Giritale Military Police School’s 20th Anniversary Marked

Several military formalities and religious programmes added significance to the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the School of Military Police at Giritale on Thursday (13).

To mark this special day, a Guard Turnout saluted the Commandant of the School of Military Police, Colonel Anura Bandara on his arrival at the premises before he was invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory. A group photograph with All Ranks at the same occasion, troop address, All Ranks tea and lunch culminated the first segment of the day’s arrangements.

In the same evening, a Bodhi Puja at Girithalaramaya invoked blessings on the School, its staff and transferred merits on all fallen War Heroes before a new Pahan Weta (structure for oil lamps) was donated to the temple to coincide with the anniversary.
