General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division Hands Over Army-Built House to Family in Jaffna

In a significant display of community support, Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, officially handed over the keys to a newly constructed house to Mr. Selvarasa Sudhakaran and his family in Chankanai, Jaffna, on 09 October 2024.

This initiative was launched as a part of the ongoing housing project led by the Security Forces (Jaffna).

The troops of the 11th Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry, completed the house under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), and the General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, with close supervision by Brigadier E.M.L.P. Ekanayake USP, Commander of the 513 Infantry Brigade.

The project also received generous contributions from the Divisional Secretariat Office, Walikamam West, and philanthropist Mr. V. Thabodharan.

The ceremonial handing over of the house keys took place amidst religious blessings, symbolizing a new chapter for Mr. Selvarasa Sudhakaran and his family.

This heartening initiative stands as a testament to the solidarity and support within the community, offering not just shelter but hope for the future.
