General Bipin Rawat Visits Galle

The visiting India’s Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Bipin Rawat called at the General Officer Commanding, 58 Division in Galle under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on Wednesday (16) as part of his itinerary in Sri Lanka.

In conformity with military formalities, troops of the 58 Division greeted the day’s Chief Guest soon after General Rawat arrived at the Galle Fort.

After a warm welcome, extended by Major General Sudath Perera, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division, the visiting COAS received a briefing on the roles and tasks of the 58 Division and a comprehensive account of ongoing development, projects, being pursued by the troops in the area.

An exchange of symbolic mementos brought the cordial meeting to an end.
