Garment Workers in Batticaloa Given Vaccines

The island-wide COVID-19 vaccination programme of the Army, launched with the blessings of HE the President under the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army covered Batticaloa district on Saturday (28) under the supervision of the Major General Nalin Koswatta, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division and Colonel Dilupa Bandara, Commander 231 Brigade.

During the programme, 400 employees in the Brandix Apparel Solution Limited, Ariyampathy received the second dose of ‘Sinopharm’ vaccine under the close supervision of a medical team of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps, supported by 11(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops. The project would continue prioritizing the inoculation of people above 60 years of age as instructed by HE the President.
