A Poson Zone, including exhibition of decorative lanterns, Bakthi Gee (devotional song presentation) and provision of free herbal drinks, organized by 141 Brigade, near the Brigade Headquarters and a few other areas got underway for two days (June 23 -24).
Poson Bakthi Gee presentations toured various places, like Galle Fort, Unawatuna Bonsvita Elders’ Home, Galle Police Station and Galle Southern Dockyard and drew attention of the public.
141 Brigade Commander Brigadier A.S. Ariyasinghe and Commander of Navy Southern Wing Rear Admiral K.K.U.P.S. De Silva as Chief Guests attended the opening ceremony of the Poson Zone.
Soldiers serving 2 and 3 Battalions Gemunu Watch, 5 Battalion Sri Lanka General Service Corps (SLGSC), 12 Battalion Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), Sri Lanka Light Infantry Training School and inmates at Abimansala - 2 produced own decorative lanterns and received awards for the best.
A huge crowd of spectators and devotees in the area visited the zone.
