Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops at Regimental HQ, Saliyapura staged a formal felicitation ceremony in the honour of Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the newly-appointed Chief of Staff on Friday (05 Jan) at the Regimental HQ premises.
Arriving Chief of Staff was received by the Deputy Centre Commandant. After reviewing the Guard Turnout, the Chief of Staff was invited to pay a floral tribute to the Founding Father of GR, late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne statue.
Soon after, the day's Chief Guest was ushered to receive the salute of the Guard of Honour presented by the GR troops. Adding memories to the day, the Chief of Staff planted a sapling in the premises and posed for a few group photographs with the Regimental Staff. The day concluded with an All-Ranks tea arrangement where the Chief of Staff interacted with the troops. GR Council members, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks participated in the occasion.
