A colourful farewell ceremony was held at the Home of Gajaba on 07 July 2024 to honour three distinguished Senior Officers: Major General S.B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu, Brigadier T.S Balasuriya, and Brigadier W.M.S.N Eragoda RWP RSP USP.
The day commenced with Separate Guard Turnouts for each Senior Officer, followed by floral tributes to the statue of late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Founding Father of the Gajaba Regiment.
Afterwards, each retiring Senior Officer was honoured in a Ceremonial Parade. Then, a group photograph with the retiring Senior Officers and all other Officers was taken to commemorate the occasion. Following this, an All-Ranks tea was held at the Other Ranks’ Mess, where the retiring Senior Officers had a cordial interaction with the attendees.
The day's events concluded with a Farewell Dinner Night held at the Officers’ Mess. Senior Officers, Officers, and their spouses participated in the occasion.
