The Paranthan fuel distributing centre belonging to Ceylon Petroleum Cooperation (CEPETCO), on completion of its renovation due to damages done by LTTE terrorists, was handed over to the Sri Lanka Army by the cooperation on 7th May.
The regional Manager in northwest CEPETCO Mr. Muthu Banda handed over the ownership to Brigadier SMAWB Padeniye, Director Supply and Transport at Army Headquarters.
This filling station with storage capacity of 13,500 litres of petrol and 36,000 litres of diesel is to facilitate distribution of fuel and lubricants to all Army formations based in the north and Wanni.
