Four New Houses Gifted to Veheratenna Resettlers with School Accessories for Their Children

 
A total of 168 school children, now living in the Army-built Veheratenna resettled village in the 62 Division area of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) on account of the New Year courtesy a team of donors, organized by Brigadier (Retd) Hiran Halangoda.
 
Each student in this resettled village received packets of school accessories, each to the value of Rs 2,500/= due to donations made by Dr Chandrasena, Mr Wasantha De Alwis, Mrs Anoma De Alwis and Mr Dilsiri Chandrasena.
 
Meanwhile, four families of low-income groups were gifted 4 newly-built houses, following the initiatives taken by the 62 Division Headquarters as a New Year bonanza.
 
The leading gem businessman from Ratnapura, Mr Nihal Jayathilake, together with Mr L.N Perera and Mr Sinha Abeygunawardena, sponsored the construction of those 4 houses at the request of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W and Brigadier K.G.D Perera, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division.
 
On 1 January 2015, a simple ceremony handed over those 4 houses to the beneficiaries on account of the dawn of the New Year in the presence of a large gathering including the donors and Major General Boniface Perera and senior officers.
 
Troops serving the 62 Division together with the Brigades took charge of the construction and completed the project within a few months on the directions of higher headquarters.
