Three positive COVID-19 infected ones who returned from Oman and undergoing quarantining at Ozo Hotel Quarantine Centre at Wellawatte hav been reported by this morning (17). The total number of infected detainees at the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu stands at 629 as of this morning (17) by 6.00 am. Of them, 508 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates and 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
The flight QR 668 from Doha with 36 passengers, the flight 6E 9103 from Chennai with 29 passengers and the flight UL 455 from Narita with 03 passengers arrived in Colombo and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri services this morning (17).
As of today (17), 307 quarantined individuals are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 85 were Sri Lankan expatriates from Bogoda QC, 90 from 59 Division QC, 120 from Periyakadu QC, 06 from Nipuna Boossa and 06 from Oluvil QC.. To-date, 30,585 individuals after completion of the Quarantine Process have left for their homes. Likewise, 5,333 persons in 46 tri-service -managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (16), 1,080 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 185,118.
Meanwhile, 04 infected positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (17). 02 of them were identified locally and the rest, 02 were among Sri Lankan expatriates. Accordingly, 484 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu after recovery have left.
