To be supportive of the government’s initiative to nab illicit tree fellers operating in forest reserves, members of the Army continue to be full alert to this national crime.
26 Sri Lanka Light Infantry of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Monday (13) again recovered four satinwood logs that had been felled and left behind by the criminals in Palampiddi area, Mannar.
Troops immediately informed the Forest Department officials and handed over those logs to them.
