Fostering Goodwill, Nigerian Military Delegation Calls at Army HQ

A delegation of military officers of the Nigerian Army, currently in Sri Lanka on a five-day long familiarization tour paid a courtesy call to the Army HQ on Wednesday (7).

The delegation, headed by Major General SO Olabanji, Director of Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and paid courtesies. During the interactions with three of the delegation, the Army Chief exchanged comprehensive views on possible exchange of training modules and conduct of field exercises in both countries.

Towards the end of friendly interactions, the Commander of the Army appreciative of their visit awarded mementos to them as tokens of goodwill and cooperation. The gesture was reciprocated.

Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Director General General Staff and Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc, Director General, Directorate of Training were also associated with the meeting at the Commander’s office.

On arrival, the 8-member delegation was warmly welcomed to the Army Headquarters by Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc, Director General, Directorate of Training at the entrance to the main building before they were ushered to the office of the Director General Training.

Afterwards, Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc, Director General, Directorate of Training at first presented a comprehensive briefing on the Sri Lanka Army with special focus on current training modules and programmes, now on.

Next, the delegation was invited to the Directorate of Research Concept and Doctrine, where Major General G.W.A Senevirathne USP psc, Director General of Directorate of Research Concept and Doctrine and Lieutenant Colonel D.L.U. de Thabrew RWP RSP USP psc, Colonel Doctrine of Directorate of Research Concept and Doctrine briefed the delegation on the compilation of the Sri Lanka Army doctrine and its perspectives.

Adding memories to their visit to the Army HQ, all of them sat for a group photograph with Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc and Senior Officers before their departure.
