Former IPKF Officers Visit Mullaittivu to Honour Legacy of Peace

A delegation of former Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Officers, along with their families, visited the 59 Infantry Division area in Mullaittivu on 16 and 17 November 2024. The contingent included Lieutenant General Gajendra Joshi, Commandant of the Indian Infantry Training School, Mhow, and former Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Sarath Chand (Retd).

Upon their arrival, Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Forces (Wanni), extended a warm welcome to the visitors. The delegation enjoyed exceptional hospitality, reflecting the enduring camaraderie between the Indian and Sri Lankan military communities. A formal dinner hosted at the 59 Infantry Division Officers’ Mess featured cultural events and discussions on peace, regional stability, and mutual respect.
