The formal first visit of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe to 573 Brigade and its under command Battalions took place on 05 July 2021.
The Commander Security Force was honoured by Guard Turnout at 573 Infantry Brigade Headquarters on his arrival and invited to plant a sapling at the Brigade premises by the 573 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Manoj Madurapperuma. After the camp visit and interaction with the troops, he visited the 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. During those visits, Commander SF (KLN) was briefed on role & tasks of Brigade and Battalions by the Brigade Commander and COs of under command units respectively.
Addressing the troops, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe appreciated all officers and the other ranks for shouldering the task of executing national responsibility of tackling the COVID -19 pandemic and stressed on the need to ensure continued good health and hygiene among the troops having taken all necessary precautions. He also emphasized the importance of training in different professional aspects of the career and maintenance of the highest standards of discipline at all times. Finally, the Commander Security Force left his remarks in the Visitors’ Books.
The General Officer Commanding of the 57 Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, Senior Staff Officers of the SFHQ-Kilinochchi and 57 Division and Battalion Commanders were present during the Commander’s visits with adhering all COVID-19 preventive measures.
