53 Infantry Division bid farewell to its 29th General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General P.G.P.S Rathnayaka RWP RSP ndc on 08 July 2024 and the senior officer received a big salute at the end of more than one and half year active service in 53 Infantry Division.
The days’ programme commenced with the arrival of Major General P.G.P.S Rathnayaka RWP RSP ndc, and he was welcomed with a Guard Turnout. The Colorful Parade was reviewed by the outgoing GOC in accordance with military traditions. Then he handed over his duties formally and appeared for the group photograph.
The day's event also textured with the troop address before the culmination with All Ranks tea.
