Formal Infantry &;amp; Riot Control Training Courses Held


One more programme of battalion training for infantrymen serving the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) began on Friday (7) at Ampakamam Battalion Training School on the directions of the Commander, SFHQ-KLN.

The inaugural ceremony, attended by the 57 Division Deputy General Officer Commanding, Brigadier M.D Wijesundara saw the Chief Guest stressing the importance of continued training as infantrymen. A total of 13 officers and 306 other ranks participating the course and it will continue until 30 September 2015.

Meanwhile, 4 officers and 140 other rankers of the SFHQ-KLN initiated the conduct of a 5-day long Riot Control Course, following directions of the Directorate of Training at Army Headquarters on Monday (10).
 
Brigadier H.J Seneviratne, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division delivered the inaugural address at the AIPT school, Kilinochchi.

The training course concluded on Friday (14). Colonel K.T.A.D.S. Kolambathantri, Commander, 571 Brigade graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
