Ground preparation work for erection of a much-needed X-ray unit at the Minneriya Military Hospital, is now underway, following initiatives taken by Brigadier M.H.G Mihindukulasuriya, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (FMA) of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E).
Major General Lal Perera, Commander, SFHQ-E, on being informed that there exists an inordinate delay in relation to the erection of an X-ray unit at this Military Hospital, steps were taken by him to instruct the newly appointed, Commander, FMA to initiate arrangements to go ahead with the project, considering its urgency.
Accordingly, Brigadier Mihindukulasuriya on Monday (3) at the auspicious minute laid the cornerstone for construction of the new X-ray unit at this hospital for Army personnel.
Soon after the brief ceremony for foundation-stone laying, the FMA Commander paid a visit to the hospital complex and shared a couple of views with the inmates.
