As of this morning (12), a total of 762 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them are locally-identified affectees. Of those persons, 445 are from Colombo, 135 from Gampaha and 36 from Kalutara district, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (12), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 27,743. Meanwhile, 19, 423 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (24,684) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (11), a total of 31,374 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 22,830 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 8,397 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
By this morning (12), 570 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. To-date, 147 COVID-19 positive deaths have been so far reported. One COVID-19 death reported in the past 24 hours was from Colombo 13 area.
By this morning (12), the flight EY 264 from UAE with 300 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 46 passengers, the flight UL 1206 from India with 96 passengers, and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 81 passengers, have already arrived in Colombo. UL 867 from China with 11 passengers and the flight UL 554 with 21 passengers from Germany are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka within today (12). They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
