Flights Continue to Bring Expatriates-NOCPCO

As of this morning (26), 12 persons who arrived from overseas were confirmed positive to COVID-19. They are from Dubai (02) at Mulankavil and Arliya green city QCs, Qatar (06) at Vidaththapalei QC, Albanian Seafarer (01) at Fairway Sunset QC and Ukrainian Seafarers (03) at Hotel Mount Lainia, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (26), the total number of detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 650. The flight EY264 from Dubai with 07 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 50 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatarwith 08passengers, the flight UL1026 from India with 122 passengers have arrived in Colombo and the flight UL226 from Dubai is expected to arrive shortly. All of those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (26), 271 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 12 persons are from Nipuna Boossa QC, 04 from Kalpitiya Ruwala QC, 07 from Pitipana QC, 08 from Rajagiriya Ayurveda QC, 29 from Hotel Dolphin QC, 12 from Diyatalawa QC, 31 persons from Periyakadu QC and 168 more persons from Norochcholai QC.

Likewise, 44,817 individuals by this morning (26) have been sent back home after quarantining. As of this morning (26), 6,991persons in 67 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (25), 1300 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 278,145.

Meanwhile, 16 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (25). 14 of them are expatriates and others 2 inmates from Kandakadu Rehabilitation centre.
