FLEEING CIVILIANS DEFY TIGER DIKTATS &; HEAD FOR CLEARED AREAS

MULLAITTIVU: PANDEMONIUM has broken out in the PUTHUMATHALAN “No Fire Zone” (NFZ) Monday (20) afternoon as a gathering of some 5,000 or more trapped civilians defied LTTE threats, braved to cross two more LTTE built earth bunds.

Those fleeing civilians have been challenged, confronted and surrounded by gun-trotting Tigers inside the NFZ on their way but resisting civilians have gone on arguing against their detention by the LTTE. Heated arguments have prompted Tigers to react to the chaos by firing at them.

At the time this report was filed, those civilians defying Tiger threats were trickling towards the cleared areas after breaking open the human chain that has been placed by Tigers around them, according to the latest inputs captured by the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) of the Army.

Reports also said Tigers with the motive of creating a human catastrophe were doing everything possible at this final stage of the fight against them in order to turn the trend in their favour. (See separate video)
